Our Christmas Spending

My wife and I finished Christmas shopping for our boys in the beginning of November. Doing this has made this Christmas season a lot less stressful on my wife and I. We like to get the Christmas shopping done early every year, but this is the first year that we have been able to do it the right way, without credit.

We are also trying to save $880 for a deck and we are trying to pay off two more debts entirely before the end of the year. We would love to start 2007 with only 7 or 8 total debts instead of the 21 we started 2006 with. This will take some "December Discipline," but I think we can do it.

We are very thankful for the benefit that we have received from learning to live within our means and living on a budget every month. We are getting better at budgeting as every month goes by, and we are hopeful that the discipline learned will help us in years to come as we learn to live debt free for the rest of our lives.
